Lakewood Police Department

The city of Lakewood has a police station located at 9401 Lakewood Drive SW, Lakewood WA 98499 and their phone number is 253-830-5000.  To serve all of Lakewood’s 81,000 people, the Lakewood Police Department has divisions for investigations, patrol, traffic, and specialty units. 

The Investigations division has a number of units beneath it; Homicides/Major Crimes, Domestic Violence, Special Operations, Gangs, Proactive Property Crimes, and Forensic Services units.  The Homicides unit tracks assaults and person crimes that require diligent work to study and investigate; they even find monitor the Western State Hospital for clues and leads in missing person cases.  Rape, abuse, and other crimes against the innocent are dealt with by the Domestic Violence Unit and this includes keeping track of sex offenders and repeated crimes in the city.  Other units include investigators maintaining a heavy presence in communities with more auto theft and specific crimes; forensic services are useful for processing evidence and preparing it to be admissible in court.

Reports can be filed online regarding animal concerns, nuisance complaints, and tips.  Tips from the public can be submitted anonymously through an online form; calling in will require a person to find the correct phone number within the police department.  Criminal investigation tips are to be directed to 253-830-5064, but there are alternate numbers for those reporting prostitution, gangs, domestic violence, drugs, and vehicular complaints.  

Major crimes in the city of Lakewood include minor assaults and intimidation as the main person crimes, yet the total of larceny cases is high in terms of property crimes in the urban area.  Jails in Lakewood include the Pierce County Jail which is situated at 910 Tacoma Ave. S, Tacoma, WA and their number is 253-798-4590.  Other correctional facilities include the Fife Jail, Puyallup Jail, and Nisqually Jail.  The Fife Jail is open 24 hours a day and located at 3737 Pacific Hwy E, Fife WA 98424 and their phone number is 253-922-6633 Ext. 2.  The Puyallup City Jail has more rigid visitation guidelines and is located within the Puyallup Public Safety Building which also includes the city police department.  The Nisqually Jail has a physical address at 11702 Yelm Highway SE, Olympia, WA 98513 and their phone number is 360-459-9603.  

The Lakewood Police Department tells people to address a warrant by contacting the court; by phone or in person with identification to discuss options for the person and avoid an arrest.

Looking for help in identifying the female robbery suspect in the pics below. She robbed the Subway in the Towne Center on July 2nd. She is wearing the dark hat and carrying some type of bag. She presented a note to the employee and threatened violence. More info on our FB page.

Lakewood PD was in the area of the 10300 block of Gravelly Lk Dr investigating a bank robbery at Heritage Bank. The suspect presented a note and no weapon was seen. Suspect was a black male, mid 30's, 5'8", med build wearing a black sweater and black pants. More info on our FB.

We have reports of wires down at 9000 block of Newgrove. Also word that this car that slid off the road at Gravelly Lake Drive and Steilacoom Boulevard. Non-injury luckily, but please stay safe and off the roads if you can.
