Redmond Police Department

The Redmond Police Department is located at 8701 160th Avenue NE, Redmond WA 98052 and their phone number is 425-556-2500.  Serving a population of over 57,500 might not be easy, yet Police Chief Ron Gibson helps run an effective department and the department is prepared through the splitting up the units well and covering different areas of expertise.  The Redmond Police Department has 4 main divisions to provide optimal skill and experience in the respective field; Patrol, Emergency Response Teams, Investigations, Support Services, and Administrative Services.

The Patrol Division heads several units and this helps respond immediately to emergency situations in the area.  The Traffic unit includes keeping a check on intoxicated drivers, maintains good safety education, especially for young drivers, and technical investigations for collisions.  The department also has a K-9 unit for responding to robberies, prowlers, and tracking narcotics while Police Support Officers are responsible for assisting with other tasks, such as dealing with evidence and attending to non-emergency calls.  The Emergency Response Division includes a SWAT team for serious situations that might be incredibly hostile or to handle barricaded suspects.  The team has crisis negotiating officers to effectively speak to subjects.  The Investigations Division contains a family violence team and crime analysis unit, as well as a Pro-Act group.  Crime analysis is performed, then trends and patterns are observed to be published by the department.  The Support Services supply the Communications Unit and Records Unit for better operations.  Administrative Services handle reaching out to the community and finding potential officers to recruit and train.

Main crimes in the Redmond area are larceny thefts and simple assaults, yet motor vehicle theft, fraud, and other property crimes have increased.  The jails that are usually used include Snohomish County Jail which is located at 3025 Oakes Avenue, Everett WA 98201 and their phone number is 425-388-3395.  King County Correctional Facility has their address at 500 5th Avenue, Seattle, WA  98104 and their phone number is (206) 296-1234.  Issaquah City Jail is also used by the Redmond Police Department.

The department holds forms for accident reports and clearance letter information; identification is required to be efficient and completed promptly.  A crime tip form is available on the department website to offer details on ongoing investigations and cases where there is only a crime of interest.  Emergencies should still be called into 911 for immediate response and saving victims dangerous situations, unlike non-emergency scenarios that can be called in later.

An observant resident saw a stranger in his backyard early this morning. Turned out the trespasser then broke into a neighbor's SUV. Thanks to Johnny-on-the-spot, officers arrived quickly and caught the thief red-handed. 👏👏👏 #TeamWork #GoodNeighbor #SeeSomethingSaySomething https://t.co/2Fyq5aEqWN

We know, it seems ridiculous some people still choose to not wear their seat belt. We can't believe it either. But of the 37,133 people killed in car crashes in the US in 2017, 47% were not wearing seat belts. #ClickItOrTicket #SeatBeltsSaveLives https://t.co/wnCSu1i6SQ

We're joining 144 participating Washington agencies in a #ClickItOrTicket campaign over the next two weeks. Buckling up not only saves lives and reduces injuries, but not buckling up can earn you a pricey traffic ticket. #SeatBeltsSaveLives #ArriveAlive #BuckleUp https://t.co/1v9UwnIiom

Can you ID this burglar? He broke into a Redmond apartment on 3/27/19 and helped himself to jewelry, cash, electronics etc. He even stole this excellent security camera. Call RPD if you know him, 425-556-2500 or leave a tip here: https://t.co/VvOrqDT2mt https://t.co/WFh8ZlqHLX
