Grays Harbor County Sheriff Information

Grays Harbor County is on the Pacific Coast of Washington State. At the 2010 census, the population of Grays harbor was 72,797. The county seat is Montesano and the largest city is Aberdeen. The county is named for a large estuarine bay near the southwestern corner. There is 2224 square miles in the county and 322 square miles is water.

Grays Harbor County is geographically quite large which presents a challenge for providing uniformed law enforcement services. We have resident deputies who live in outlying areas as well as substations to help us respond more quickly to calls.

Grays Harbor County Records/Court Clerk

All court records for Superior Court are kept by the county clerk. The cases must be indexed, filed properly and kept forever on microfilm. Accuracy and efficiency are synonymous with the county clerk as even the slightest error or omission in indexing, posting, filing or in preparation and issuance of writs or warrants of arrest can make the clerk liable for untold amounts of damage.

County Jail Information

The Corrections Division is managed by the Undersheriff with the assistance of the Jail Lieutenant. They oversee a 176 bed facility which houses prisoners prior to sentencing or after being sentenced to a term of up to one year. They are assisted by five Sergeants and a staff of approximately 15 full time Corrections Officers as well as support staff.

Visiting inmates is done via video visitation.  You must be on a list supplied by the inmate, sign in to visit, provide valid and current picture I.D. and be aware that time is limited. Visitors must sign in 30 minutes prior to the start of visiting.

You can find out if you have a warrants by contacting the court where the original charge was filed. She Sheriff’s office cannot provide warrant information to you. Contact the Grays harbor County District Court at 360-249-3341 and for felonies you can contact the Clerk’s Office at 360-249-3842.
